Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council (LCCC) held a special meeting this week with the chiefs of the two health trusts in its area providing updates on anti-social behaviour on site. There were 22 reports of drug dealing at the Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH) in Belfast between January and August last year, compared to five the previous year.

Drug dealing at Belfast's Royal Victoria Hospital is on the rise despite an active PSNI security approach at the hospital. The Belfast Trust confirmed the "worrying trend" with antisocial behaviour, including drug usage and drug dealing, increasing on the Royal Hospital's site. In a statement the Trust said it was "concerned" about the issue and were working closely with PSNI colleagues and local community representatives.

A Co Down football pitch has finally reopened after a local councillor lobbied the local authority over the fact it had been closed for a year. The Carryduff grounds were vacated by former club Santos FC in early 2024 after many years spent as the resident club. Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council (LCCC) was recently criticised in chambers (March 31) for allowing the facility to lie idle blocking local youths from hiring the pitch.
