The 31-year-old man who died after being stabbed in Youghal on Monday evening has been named locally as Daniel ‘Dano’ O’Sullivan, who had been jailed for manslaughter in 2016. Gardaí and the emergency services were called to the scene following a row between two men at a pub on Youghal’s North Main Street at around 9.50pm. Mr O’Sullivan was transferred to Cork University Hospital (CUH) where he was treated for serious injuries but was later pronounced dead.

A young Cork rapper has been hailed as a legend by his friends in the Kabin Crew, after he proved a hit with judges on TV show Britain’s Got Talent. Farranree native Jamie Forde’s original rap, Life In A Wheelchair, which details how he overcomes the daily struggles he faces, went down a treat with judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and Bruno Tonioli. Simon Cowell is not known as someone who is easily impressed, but he said he loved Jamie’s attitude.
