    The Diocese of Cork and Ross celebrated 20 years of the Polish chaplaincy in Cork recently with a special Mass at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mahon. The principal celebrant was Bishop Fintan Gavin, who concelebrated with current Polish chaplains, Fr Rafal Zielonka and Fr Bartlomiej Dziedzic, as well as former chaplains, Fr Piotr Galus and Fr Kamil Bachara. They were additionally joined by the co-parish priest of Mahon, Fr Micheal Keohane.

    Cork County Council is seeking public input to inform the development of a new regional electric vehicle (EV) strategy. A consultation process to inform the strategy has been launched, in conjunction with Kerry County Council, to establish a guideline for the rollout of EV charging infrastructure across the South-West region. The application, submitted to the local authority last week by Diamond Developments Ltd, is seeking to develop 72 residential units at a site in the townland of Monfieldstown and Mount Oval in Rochestown.

    An application to extend the long-term car park at Cork Airport has been submitted to Cork City Council, seeking to add more than 650 new parking spaces. The application is seeking to develop an extension to the Holiday Blue long-term car park south of the existing lot. The extension will provide for an additional 669 long-term car parking spaces, 32 for people with reduced mobility.
