Anglers who braved sunny but cold conditions were rewarded with some large fish at Rhode Island ponds. The Department of Environmental Management planned to stock 13 ponds the last two weeks of January. The cold weather meant the DEM had to cut through thick ice in most locations. Barber's Pond in West Kingston was dotted with ice fishermen and women Friday morning, one day after golden trout, rainbow trout, and salmon were released.

CRANSTON, R.I. — It’s the last weekend shoppers will be browsing at the Bob’s footwear and apparel store in Cranston.
