TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The week ahead will consist of dry conditions with a warming trend through Wednesday with chances for showers/storms returning toward the end of the work week. While a slight chance for showers/storms may still exist this weekend it is trending more dry at this time. Taking Action:Enjoy today, it’ll be the nicest day of the week before the heat and humidity increase tomorrow into Wednesday.

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - As a cold front pushes through today, the main impact from the front will be a wide range in highs from north to south as well as a drop in humidity. The risk for shower/storm development is very low and possible that nothing develops at all for the WIBW viewing area with most of the storm activity staying in southeast KS. Taking Action:If you have any outdoor plans this afternoon, at least be aware of the potential for storm development.

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Despite on and off rain showers and possible t-storms at times especially through Saturday morning, there will be a lot of dry time so you don’t have to cancel any outdoor plans. Temperatures for the most part remain in the upper 70s-low 80s for highs through Sunday. Taking Action:You don’t need to cancel outdoor plans these next 2 days but be aware. Lightning would be the primary hazard so if you do see lightning and/or hear thunder, seek shelter immediately.
