With Eastern Kentucky in his blood and the work ethic that came with it, Trent Noah is easily a fan favorite on Kentucky‘s basketball roster. Kentuckians adore the sophomore from Harlan, Kentucky, known as the Mountain Mamba throughout Big Blue Nation. Mark Pope? He loves Noah even more. Pope was discussing his wish for Noah to add 18 pounds this offseason, when Pope confessed that he can’t love Noah any more than he does after coaching him for one season.

Collin Chandler is due for a breakout sophomore season at Kentucky. Last year, Chandler was behind the curve when he moved to Lexington for his freshman season of college basketball, having served a two-year LDS mission away from basketball in Sierra Leone. Move over, Leo XIV. It’s Mark Pope‘s turn in the spotlight. Kentucky’s head basketball coach called a Tuesday press conference on campus to discuss a wide array of topics as he and his staff finalize a new roster and gear up for the summer and the 2025-26 college basketball season. Pope spoke for over 30 minutes about all things Kentucky Basketball, ranging from player breakdowns, additions, departures, recruiting, scheduling, the House settlement, and more.

Kentucky‘s annual rivalry game with Louisville will be played earlier than ever this upcoming basketball season, set for November 11, 2025. The recent announcement of the game’s new place on the calendar was poorly received by both sides of the rivalry, with each fan base clamoring for its traditional spot around Christmas in late December. Kentucky head coach Mark Pope was asked about the drastic scheduling change on Tuesday, to which he, jokingly, put all of the blame on Louisville.
