(WJET/WFXP)– Pennsylvania State Police in Erie County are once again reminding residents to drive sober with DUI checkpoints set to be held Easter weekend around the county. PSP Girard announced the sobriety checkpoints along with roving patrols throughout the county for April 18 and 19 on Tuesday. Police are reminding residents planning on drinking during the holiday weekend to make sure to designate a sober driver which also includes legal and illegal drugs.

(WJET/WFXP)– Three people were sent to the hospital Tuesday morning after a rollover crash involving a semi-truck in Greenfield Township. Crews from Fuller Hose Co. Greenfield Township Volunteer Fire Co. were called to that crash at the Interstate 86 and Interstate 90 interchange around 9:12 Tuesday morning. When crews arrived, they found the semi off the road having gone over a nearby embankment with water bottles scattered around the site of the crash.

(WJET/WFXP)– City of Erie residents with old electronics and tires no longer needed can have the city take them off their hands free of charge. City officials announced the annual tire and electronics recycling event set for Saturday, May 3 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for City of Erie residents only. Those items can be brought to the City of Erie Municipal Garage Complex located at 1926 Holland Street with their photo ID to have them recycled for free. Photo ID is required according to a release.

A North East man is facing criminal charges for his alleged role in the fatal overdose of another North East resident. Members of Pennsylvania State Police Erie were called to a home in the 10000 block of West Main Road in North East on April 10 for that fatal overdose, identifying the victim as 31-year-old Sarah McQuister of North East.
