Since 1985, Aggie Days has been inviting families to the Stampede grounds to get a first-hand look at nearly everything related to farming. Whether it’s crops, veggies, livestock or farm equipment, there’s something for everyone. Brian Gross with the Calgary Stampede says it’s important for everyone to be exposed to what agriculture has to offer. “Aggie Days is to let people from the city know how and where their food is created, where it comes from,” Gross said.

In February, a man from southern Alberta flew to South America to return an ancient artefact his family had been gifted decades before. Dan McDougall from Okotoks, Alta., says a jade amulet from Costa Rica had been with them for more than 50 years. "In 1971, my parent sponsored an exchange student from Costa Rica," explained McDougall.

Residents in the southwest Calgary community of Oakridge might want to keep their eyes and ears open when enjoying the beautiful spring weather. A black bear was spotted in a tree on Monday evening, a few dozen metres from an off-leash dog park. Connie Akbari was driving along 90th avenue after 7:00pm on Monday when she happened to spot the fuzzy visitor. "I just happened to glance over and saw something big and dark in the tree," said Akbari.
