The Village of Kimberly estimates it could save more than $250,000 annually if it left the Fox Valley Metro Police Department and contracted with the Outagamie County Sheriff's Office for law-enforcement services. Village Administrator Danielle Block said the savings would be even greater if future capital expenditures for evidence storage facilities and an expansion of the safety center are taken into account.

Kaukauna's goats are coming baaaack!About 15 goats from Mulberry Lane Farm of Woodville will arrive June 9 to eat buckthorn, garlic mustard, honeysuckle and other invasive species at 1000 Islands Environmental Center as an environmentally friendly alternative to the application of herbicides. The goats will remain on site until June 23. Kaukauna has used the goats to control unwanted vegetation, including poison ivy, in the 1000 Islands Conservancy Zone since 2018.

Reader question: What is going on at Arrowhead Park in Neenah? Answer: Two projects are in progress at Arrowhead Park, a 30-acre property at the south end of Little Lake Butte des Morts that abuts the city's downtown district. The first project is the application of herbicide and the tilling of a 10-acre section of prairie to remove unwanted vegetation. That's the open soil that park visitors see.
