In 2021, the designer, who splits his time between San Francisco, New York and Provincetown, Mass., jumped at the chance to buy and restore two homes built in the 1800s in the city’s French Quarter. Fulk, 60, paid $2.45 million for the main house and $1.58 million for the guest house, both previously owned by hoteliers Frances and Rodney Smith.
