INTRODUCTION Several indicators monitor progress toward the goals of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF). The framework aims to “halt and reverse biodiversity loss to put nature on a path to recovery” by 2030 and to have biodiversity “valued, conserved and wisely used, maintaining ecosystem services, sustaining a healthy planet and delivering benefits essential to all people” by 2050 (https://www.cbd.int/gbf/vision).
