    Brother-and-sister duo David Whitehead and Joanne Dwyer, the new owners of Yorebridge House in Wensleydale, North Yorkshire have revealed plans to add a new spa and additional accommodation at the five-star property. Whitehead and Dwyer already own and operate The Jolly Fisherman pub in Craster, Northumberland, as well as wet-led venue Rosie’s in Newcastle city centre and pub and wedding venue The Woodmans Arms in Wickham.

    The Newman has announced the appointment of Christian Turner as executive chef and Eder Neto as head of food and drink, ahead of the hotel’s opening in late summer. In their new roles, the pair will oversee the hotel’s restaurant, Brasserie Adeline and the Gambit Bar, alongside its private dining rooms and room services. Turner, who hails from Australia, joins The Newman team from his most recent role spearheading the launch of Manzi’s in Soho in 2023.

One of Cornwall’s oldest coaching inns, the property is home to 14 bedrooms and three family-sized apartments. 10 of the bedrooms are dog-friendly and all rooms come with swim robes and beach bags for guests to use.

    London’s Custom House could be given a new lease of life if plans by owner Jastar Capital to turn the building into a hotel and leisure destination are approved. Custom House City, a subsidiary of Jastar Capital and the leaseholder of Custom House, has submitted plans to the council which would see the former HM Revenue & Customs headquarters fully refurbished and redeveloped as a 179-bed hotel with dedicated spa and health facilities.
