Brother-and-sister duo David Whitehead and Joanne Dwyer, the new owners of Yorebridge House in Wensleydale, North Yorkshire have revealed plans to add a new spa and additional accommodation at the five-star property. Whitehead and Dwyer already own and operate The Jolly Fisherman pub in Craster, Northumberland, as well as wet-led venue Rosie’s in Newcastle city centre and pub and wedding venue The Woodmans Arms in Wickham.
Christian Turner joins London's The Newman as executive chef

The Newman has announced the appointment of Christian Turner as executive chef and Eder Neto as head of food and drink, ahead of the hotel’s opening in late summer. In their new roles, the pair will oversee the hotel’s restaurant, Brasserie Adeline and the Gambit Bar, alongside its private dining rooms and room services. Turner, who hails from Australia, joins The Newman team from his most recent role spearheading the launch of Manzi’s in Soho in 2023.

St Austell Brewery has reopened The Wellington in Boscastle, Cornwall following a major refurbishment. One of Cornwall’s oldest coaching inns, the property is home to 14 bedrooms and three family-sized apartments. 10 of the bedrooms are dog-friendly and all rooms come with swim robes and beach bags for guests to use.
Custom House set to get new lease of life under hotel plans

London’s Custom House could be given a new lease of life if plans by owner Jastar Capital to turn the building into a hotel and leisure destination are approved. Custom House City, a subsidiary of Jastar Capital and the leaseholder of Custom House, has submitted plans to the council which would see the former HM Revenue & Customs headquarters fully refurbished and redeveloped as a 179-bed hotel with dedicated spa and health facilities.

Integrity International Group, owned by billionaire hotelier Tony Matharu, has won a bid to convert Atlas House in the City of London into a new luxury hotel. The Grade-II listed building will join the Blue Orchid Hospitality brand, which is part of Integrity. Atlas House is a purpose-built commercial office which has been occupied by Atlas Assurance Company for 130 years.

The Invicta Hotel, a historic property in Plymouth, has been sold to the owners of The Drakes Hotel off a guide price of £1.5 million prior to auction. The Grade II-listed, four-star boutique hotel, which comprises 23 en suite bedrooms, was originally brought to market at a guide price of £2.25 million in May 2022. On the lower ground floor is a self-contained function room with separate external access, its own bar and cloakrooms.
Firth Pavilion at Seamill Hydro unveils £750k transformation

Seamill Hydro, a seaside hotel on the Ayrshire coast, has unveiled a first look at its reimagined Firth Pavilion wedding suite, with the hotel’s 2026 wedding diary now open. RAD Hotel Group, owned by Vivian and Robert Kyle, has invested £750,000 in structural renovations and interior design of the space, working closely with hospitality interior specialists, Lucid Interiors. The new Firth Pavilion now features floor-to-ceiling windows framing views of the Firth of Clyde and the Isle of Arran.
Westminster Bank acquired as part of £110m hotel investment

Singapore billionaire Asok Kumar Hiranandani’s Royal Group of Companies has acquired the former Westminster Bank building in London, with plans to turn the property into a luxury all-suite hotel. Royal Group bought the property on Piccadilly in Mayfair last month for £65 million and plans to spend another £45 million transforming it into a 50-suite boutique hotel. This means the group’s total investment will be £110 million, or around $143 million Singapore dollars.
Philippe Leboeuf appointed new CEO of Dorchester Collection

Dorchester Collection has announced the appointment of Philippe Leboeuf to the role of chief executive officer, effective June 2025. Leboeuf joins the team from his most recent role as managing director of Raffles London, where he oversaw the hotel’s launch. He succeeds Eugenio Pirri, who left his role as joint CEO of the Collection last November.
