    After five years, San Pablo Street Tacos has permanently closed its location at 800 St. Paul St. in Mount Vernon. The Mexican restaurant opened in 2020 at the corner location, the original site of the Red Emma’s co-op bookstore. Its name means “Saint Paul” in Spanish, and it served tacos, burritos, quesadillas and other Mexican fare. Monday was its final day. “After an amazing run, San Pablo Street Tacos is officially closed,” the team said on Instagram.

    Seven months after Baltimore’s spending board terminated a contract to work with the independent Baltimore Office of Promotion and the Arts (BOPA), the same panel has approved a new agreement with the agency. Baltimore’s Board of Estimates on Wednesday ratified with no discussion an agreement that calls for BOPA to serve as the “City Arts agency” and to provide certain services to Baltimore’s “creative community” from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026.

    This is a year of firsts for gay country music star Orville Peck. In March, he made his Broadway debut as the Emcee in Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club. After he steps away from that role in July, he is set to make his acting debut in a feature film. Peck’s appearance on Broadway was billed from the start as a limited engagement, from March 31 to July 30. Deadline.com and others reported this month that Peck, 37, is joining the cast of Street Fighter in an undisclosed role.

    Otis Rolley, a Baltimore City government veteran who ran for mayor in 2011, has been selected to lead the Baltimore Development Corporation. Mayor Brandon Scott announced on Friday that Rolley has been appointed to serve as president and CEO of the quasi-public economic development agency effective June 23. He will be the first African American to head the agency.
