The Cal City Police Department will be getting a new Polaris off-road vehicle in the coming months. The 5 new SUVs have 4-wheel drive. Before, Cal City's police did not have any cars with 4-wheel drive.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) - Mother's day sales were cut short at a local church after an altercation broke out between vendors and church officials. On Saturday May 10, a mother and daughter set up their flower stand in front of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church on the corner of Baker and Pacific. Around 10 am, video footage shows individuals from the church approach the stand, telling them that if they didn't leave they would call the police.

ARVIN, Calif. (KERO) - Two men are dead following a shooting in Arvin, which also left a teenager injured. Arvin Police say reports of shots fired took place around 4:30 am on Saturday morning. When police arrived to Bautista St, they found two men shot, and both died at the scene. Arvin PD also says a teenager was injured in the incident and was taken to the hospital. A possible 4th victim also later showed up to the hospital. There is no suspect and no shooter at this time.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration announced Thursday it will archive its database of billion-dollar climate disasters, as the Trump administration reduces the resources available to the agency. The database has measured the direct costs of major weather disasters in the U.S. since 1980. It collects information from federal and state agencies and insurance companies to estimate the dollar impacts of individual events such as hurricanes or wildfires.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) - Keith Julifs, 37, appeared in court Thursday to be arraigned on over 20 felony accusations, including attempted murder, while displaced residents of the property wonder what's next for them. According to KCSO, Julifs was armed and fired at deputies, prompting the use of a tactical vehicle, the Rook, for his apprehension.
