Edwards Cinemas in Southwest Bakersfield is getting upgrades after facing financial difficulties post-COVID. Regal has chosen Edwards as one of only 10 theaters nationwide to receive funding for improvements. New features include reclining chairs, updated concessions, and enhanced sound and visual systems.

(KERO) - The race to fill the 32nd Assembly District seat is heating up as GOP candidate Stan Ellis leads early results following the closure of polls Tuesday night, with Democratic challenger Chris Cruz-Boone trailing behind. As of 11 p.m. Tuesday, Ellis lead with 63% of the vote. Cruz-Boone followed with 29% with 84% of precincts reporting. Ellis, a Republican, stated that while it's still early, he hopes to maintain his lead and plans to address key issues if elected.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KERO) - Voters in Kern and Tulare counties hit the polls Tuesday to cast their ballots for the next 32nd District Assemblymember. The seat has been open since former assemblyman and now Congressman Vince Fong vacated the seat in favor of the 20th Congressional District. Four candidates are in the running, Bakersfield businessman Stan Ellis (R), Frazier Park resident Holli Willibey (R), Bakersfield native Chris Cruz-Boone (D), and Visalia resident William Brown Jr. (L).
