Six people are dead and a man is injured after a semi-trailer crash in Osceola County on Saturday afternoon, the Florida Highway Patrol said. At approximately 3:46 p.m., a 2025 Hyundai Tucson was traveling westbound on State Road 60 west of South Kenansville Road, FHP said. A 2011 semi-truck with a trailer, driven by a 36-year-old man from Miami Gardens, was traveling eastbound on State Road 60 west of South Kenansville Road.

The National Hurricane Center is tracking a new subtropical system that is located 500 miles east-southeast of Bermuda, NHC said. The system is producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms with a 10% chance of tropical development, NHC said. Some slow development of this system is possible during the next couple days before it moves into a region of strong upper-level winds. NHC said the system is expected to move northeastward over the central Atlantic over the next few days.

Scattered storms are expected to start earlier in the afternoon on Sunday in Central Florida, Spectrum News 13 meteorologist Greg Bennett said. The weather will still be hot and humid today, Bennett said. The high today will be 88 degrees and the low will be 76 degrees.

A 45-year-old bicyclist from Orlando is dead after a crash in Orange County late Friday night, the Florida Highway Patrol said. A 65-year-old man driving a Honda Odyssey was traveling northbound on Apopka Vineland Road approaching Ad Mims Road in the outside lane at approximately 11:50 p.m., FHP said. The bicyclist was traveling in northbound on the same directly in the bicycle lane. FHP said the man veered into the bike lane and struck the bicyclist.

A few scattered storms are possible during Saturday’s hot and humid weather in Central Florida, Spectrum News 13 meteorologist Greg Bennett said. Showers and storms aren’t expected to be as intense as yesterday, Bennett said. The sea breeze will be pushing west. The high today will be 90 degrees and the low will be 75 degrees.
