A 78-year-old man from Clermont, driving a 2003 Mercury Grand Marquis, was traveling northbound on U.S. 27 approaching Sawgrass Bay in the center lane, FHP said. The Davenport woman, driving a 2024 Yamaha motorcycle, was traveling in the same direction on the same road in the center lane, ahead of the sedan.

Three women are dead and one woman is in critical condition after an early morning single vehicle crash in Lake County on Sunday, the Florida Highway Patrol said. A 30-year-old woman from Mount Dora, driving a 2024 Jeep Cherokee, was traveling northbound on State Road 19 south of Saint Florian Lane, FHP said. FHP said the woman failed to negotiate a left-hand curve and ran off the roadway right. As a result, the vehicle struck a pole on the right shoulder and overturned several time.
