(Image: Benjamin Jones) An Ipswich resident has raised concerns that easy access to an overgrown area and pond could be "potentially life-threatening", after a boy drowned in the pond some years ago. The gate to the pond between Jovian Way and Sproughton Road was broken for some time, according to resident Benjamin Jones.

The Shotley Peninsula Swimming Club toasted the milestone with an anniversary party, held with its annual general meeting, at Shotley Village Hall on June 4.

The Suffolk founder of a period poverty enterprise has been made an OBE for her services for promoting period dignity. Celia Hodson, from Eye, is the chief executive officer of the Diss-based Hey Girls enterprise She has been made an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in the King's Birthday Honours list. The honour recognised Ms Hodson's achievements in raising awareness of free period products in Scotland.
