It's got people living nearby frustrated and wondering why construction can't wait until school is on break. BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Ascension Parish students go back to school on Thursday and only 76% of their buses have air conditioning. They told us this was a recent discovery that was out of their control. They are, however, making the necessary changes to make it work in the meantime. "This time last year only 16% of our buses had AC on them, that's because our special education and our pre-k buses had AC," said Jackie Tisdell, the Director of Communications for Ascension Schools.
