Two educators with years of leadership experience in the Carroll school district were chosen to replace two high school principals who left for other jobs after their contracts were not renewed beyond 2026. Shatina Lewis, who was principal at Carroll Middle, was named principal at Carroll Senior High School and Patrick Holladay, principal at Johnson Elementary, is now principal at Carroll High School. Lewis replaces Ryan Wilson, who was hired last week as the principal at Sagniaw Boswell.

Wise County leaders worried about rapid growth and a dwindling water supply are meeting with legislators in hopes of getting bills passed to create the Wise Regional Water district. On Monday, several mayors and other officials testified for the Texas Senate’s committee on water, agriculture and rural affairs. Last week, they appeared before the Texas House committee on natural resources. Sen. Tan Parker and District 64 Rep. Andy Hopper introduced companion bills for the water district in February.

A North Richland Hills City Council member has been publicly reprimanded and stripped of his position as deputy mayor pro tem for calling the mayor a “liar,” writing about employees on social media and violating rules and procedures. Blake Vaughn, a one-term councilman who is not seeking reelection in May, was disciplined by his colleagues April 9 after a closed meeting that lasted over an hour. The matter came out of a disagreement over language in a resident survey about carports.
