Share HENRICO COUNTY, Va. — Erin Strotman, a 25-year-old nurse charged with abusing a baby in the neonatal intensive care unit at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital, was granted a $25,000 secured bond on Wednesday in Henrico court. The judge granted Strotman bond after she underwent a mental health evaluation. The results of that evaluation were sealed after they were presented in court.

Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden is getting a major face-lift for its 40th anniversary, announcing a two-year, $31 million expansion project called “Thrive.”The project will nearly double the size of the Garden’s Conservatory and will add about 7.5 acres of new gardens and another lake on the property. However, what may be most important, is the planned expansion of the Garden’s “Kroger Community Kitchen Garden,” which produces fresh produce for Feed More in Richmond.

Some of Henrico’s smallest learners got a major life lesson Thursday morning. Their teachers weren’t the ones you’d normally see in the classroom. Dozens of Henrico Fire members visited Highland Springs Elementary School to train students on what to do if they’re in a burning building, who to go to for help on the scene of a fire, and what kind of emergencies require a 911 call. “This is the 35th school we’ve been at this year,” said Jasmine Wall.

8.00am: On my office days, I commute from Southampton which doesn’t take nearly as long as it sounds, unless of course, the wrong types of leaves are on the line, or the wind is blowing in the wrong direction! I usually use this time to read. I’m currently reading Fintan O’ Toole’s We Don’t Know Ourselves, which is a very enjoyable and humorous history of Ireland. 9.30am: Once in the office, I usually go straight to my room and greet my colleagues.
