Two stores offering sweet treats are expanding in the county. Mr Simms Sweet Shop and Sumo Donuts are coming to Royal Victoria Place in Tunbridge Wells. The confectionary retailer already has more than 50 stores, including branches in Tonbridge, Bluewater and Canterbury, but is opening another branch at the shopping centre on May 8. Meanwhile, Sumo Donuts, which sells indulgent brownie-loaded and berry-topped treats, has opened its latest addition to the franchise in Tunbridge Wells.

An international bribery investigation has brought the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) to Kent. Five properties have been searched and three arrests have been made as part of the investigation into UK infrastructure company Blu-3 and former associates of the global construction firm Mace Group. Individuals at Blu-3 are suspected of paying more than £3 million in bribes to former associates of Mace Group in relation to the construction of a data centre in the Netherlands for technology giant Microsoft.

Dozens of Evri couriers are being chased by debt collectors after their depot decided to install private parking cameras, KentOnline can reveal. Early time slot drivers at the Saxon Place depot in Strood were told automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras were going live in November to stop unauthorised parking, with a maximum stay of 90 minutes introduced.

A sex offender who persisted in making contact with potential victims to indulge his “vile behaviour” has been jailed. Brandon Coleman, of Burma Way in Chatham, spent unsupervised time with children and used electronic devices to access the internet despite having a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO). The 22-year-old had been given the order after being convicted of making indecent images of children in October 2021.

A suspect has been charged after a man was assaulted while on his motorbike and crashed into metal railings. The assault took place in Rochester Road in Gravesend at around 4.20pm on Sunday, March 16. During the incident, it is reported the motorcyclist was assaulted by two men on an e-bike. He then collided with a metal railing in Parrock Road and it is alleged the suspects assaulted him again, as they tried unsuccessfully to take his motorbike.
