A Baltimore man has been sentenced to more than six years in federal prison for possession of a firearm and ammunition by a prohibited person, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Maryland announced Friday. Derek Harvey, 36, received a sentence of 78 months in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release, officials reported.

A 15-year-old male has died and a 19-year-old suffered gunshot wounds to his leg following a shooting in East Baltimore, according to Baltimore Police. On May 7, at approximately 6:13 p.m., officers reported hearing gunshots in the area of the 3500 block of Brehms Lane. Two separate shooting incidents in Baltimore on Saturday evening left two men injured, according to the Baltimore Police Department. Police responded to a reported shooting at the 3400 block of Pulaski Highway in Southeast Baltimore around 7:20 p.m.Once there, Officers reported that they were informed that a physical altercation outside an establishment led to a male being shot.
