It requires the landowner to submit a planning application for the works, which will then allow public comments to be made and be decided on its merits like all other planning applications.

Residents of rural villages who could be surrounded by solar panels have raised further concerns about pollution and noise. The 4,000 acre One Earth Solar Farm, which PS Renewables and Orsted propose to install on fields surrounding North Clifton and South Clifton, is currently in the pre-examination stage with the planning inspectorate, as it is a nationally significant infrastructure project.

Promising bagpipes, drums, and dancers, a rock band with a Scottish twist is set to perform in Lincoln. The Red Hot Chilli Pipers are out on tour, and will call at Lincoln’s Engine Shed on Saturday, May 17. From their formation in 2002 and cameo appearance at T in the Park in 2004 with the Darkness, to opening the main stage in their own right in 2014, and storming Glastonbury festival in 2024, the band have been sharing their unique sound with audiences up and down the UK and around the world.

A new state-of-the-art scanner is to bring better bone care to Newark patients. The Government has pledged install 13 new DEXA scanners across the country — including one at Newark Hospital. Patients will receive invitations for the first appointments to use the new scanner later this year.
