A man in his 70s from Nottingham has died following what police have described as a single vehicle collision involving a motorbike. Motorists have been warned of a collision on a busy route this Easter Sunday. Lincolnshire Police were called to a ‘serious’ collision on the A46 near Witham St Huges this afternoon. The road is closed between Pennels and the Halfway House roundabouts, both northbounds and southbounds, and it is not expected to re-open until the early hours of tomorrow morning (April 21). Motorists have been told to avoid both areas and to expect slow moving traffic.

A charity dedicated to saving lives in the community has received a £11,900 grant to buy new defibrillators. Newark and District Community First Responders, which works closely with East Midlands Ambulance Service to respond to 999 calls across the district, is entirely volunteer-run. Despite their collaboration with the ambulance service, the volunteers are responsible for raising all necessary funds to purchase their own uniforms and life-saving equipment.
