A three-car crash near Pitts Landing killed one person and hospitalized three people. On May 31 at about 4:55 p.m., a Honda SUV and Mazda hatchback were driving west along U.S. 378 near Pitts Landing, Master Trooper Brandon Bolt with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said in a release. The Honda, which had two uninjured occupants, hit the back of the Mazda. The collision pushed the Mazda on to the left side of the highway, where a GMC pickup driving east struck the Mazda again, Bolt said.

A Myrtle Beach Police vehicle sits in the median of Ocean Boulevard on Friday evening. Jason Lee JASON LEE A shooting on Myrtle Beachβs main tourist street sent one person to the hospital with a gunshot wound. On Saturday at 5:42 p.m., Myrtle Beach officers went to the 1400 block of South Ocean Boulevard in reference to a shooting, according to a Myrtle Beach Police social media post. Police found one person with a gunshot wound and transported to a local hospital.

Teenagers and young adults who come to downtown Myrtle Beach to party have become a public safety issue, business owners and employees said. The group will walk up and down the strip while not patronizing businesses, said a beach store owner who we will call Tom. He spoke on the condition of anonymity. The teenagers, who bring their guns, stand in front of his building and block customers while often drinking and smoking cigarettes or marijuana.

Myrtle Beach Police Department released dash cam footage of an April mass shooting on North Ocean Boulevard showing an 18-year-old firing a pistol four times and an officer shooting five times in response. On April 26 at 11:50 p.m., 18-year-old Jerrius Davis fired his gun on North Ocean Boulevard near 9th Avenue North. A Myrtle Beach Police officer returned fire, hitting and killing the Bennettsville teenager. Footage shows Davis bending over to reach for a gun and firing it into a crowd.
