(WBAY) -- Inside an office space downtown Plymouth, special helper Ryanne Lopez is hard at work. “I’m stamping boxes, making them look all fun for children with cancer,” explained Lopez, a local fifth grader. She’s the youngest in a team of volunteers hard at work, sorting and packing boxes filled with toys, candy, and love, a common theme at Project Angel Hugs, a non-profit run by Jessica Jensema.

MARINETTE, Wis. (WBAY) -- Two weekends a year, inside the Community REC Center in Marinette, you’ll find Kim and Brian Swenson hard at work. They’re task? Organizing one of the biggest pickleball tournaments in the state of Wisconsin. “This is our seventh event,” Brian explained. “We do two per year, a spring and a fall (tournament).”Pickleball enthusiasts might be an understatement when referring to the Swenson couple.

From the moment the athletes finish their college careers, they continue working and training hard to become NFL ready, and one man who grew up not too far from Lambeau Field is helping them get there. Eric Perkins is a Kewaskum native who won several NCAA FCS Division 1 Football National Championships with the North Dakota State Bison both as a player and a coach.

It was specially made for the Green Bay Packers’ star quarterback after winning the NFL/AFL Championship in 1967 -- what’s now called Super Bowl I.
