(WCSC) - The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is investigating a North Charleston Police Officer’s conduct after allegedly pulling his department-issued gun on his ex-girlfriend and another passenger. Larne Demarcio Green was fired from the North Charleston Police Department on June 13 following a kidnapping incident that took place on May 19 in Summerville, according to records from South Carolina’s Criminal Justice Academy.

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - The highly anticipated retrial of accused murderer Michael Colucci, following a jury’s inability to reach a verdict in 2018, is set to begin Monday. The Summerville jeweler is alleged to have murdered his wife, Sara Lynn Moore-Colucci, back in 2015 outside a family-owned warehouse. Colucci previously went to trial on the charge in 2018, but the judge declared a mistrial on Dec. 7, 2018, when the jury said it could not reach a decision.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCSC/AP) - The state of South Carolina executed a 57-year-old man convicted of two separate murders in Horry and Georgetown Counties. Stephen Stanko, 57, was sentenced for two separate murders in 2005 in Horry and Georgetown Counties, WMBF reports. Stanko killed his live-in girlfriend, strangling her as he raped her teenage daughter in the woman’s home in neighboring Georgetown County. He slit the teen’s throat, but she survived.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCSC/AP) - A man on death row is scheduled to die Friday by lethal injection in the state’s sixth execution in nine months. Stephen Stanko, 57, is serving is two concurrent death sentences in connection to two separate murders, WMBF reports. COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - An investigation from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division has cleared officers of any wrongdoing in a Colleton County officer-involved shooting. John Joseph Horon died on October 15, 2024, after being shot by a Colleton County deputy outside of a Ruby Tuesday. A Colleton County deputy arrived on the scene to assist Walterboro Police with a disturbance involving a subject armed with a knife who was damaging vehicles.
