    GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WMBF) - The secondary runway at the Georgetown County Airport is set to get a major facelift thanks to a new program. County officials will break ground on the reconstruction of Runway 11/29 on Friday. This project aims to increase safety and operational capabilities at the airport, according to the county. Runway 11/29 is a secondary runway. The county said that secondary runways aren’t usually eligible for FAA funding, meaning most are in poor condition.

    CHARLOTTE, NC (WMBF) - A Socastee High School alum and former Clemson star is coming home to the Carolinas. The Carolina Panthers announced Sunday night that the team signed 29-year-old Hunter Renfrow. Renfrow didn’t play in the NFL last year after the Las Vegas Raiders released him in March 2024. Renfrow spent five years with the sliver and black after being drafted by the team in 2019.

    MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF/Gray News) - A man is accused of holding candy store workers at gunpoint over a return dispute in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Joshua Kim, 36, went into Sugar Life Ice Cream & Candy Bar and argued with two employees over returning candy, according to arrest warrants. When one of the employees told Kim that he could not have a refund, he pulled out a gun and threatened to shoot the two workers, according to arrest warrants.
