    GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — A man has died after a Sunday crash in Greensboro. According to the Greensboro Police Department, around 12:40 p.m. on Sunday, Marc Alan Schmitt, 34, of Greensboro, was riding a motorcycle on West Friendly Avenue. A minivan on Lindley Road was turning left across Friendly Avenue when the motorcycle hit the side of the van. Schmitt was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the minivan had minor injuries.

According to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, they began a fraud investigation involving Triad Carports and Metal Structures, Inc., doing business as Triad Carports, located in Lexington in early 2025. As they investigated, they identified 25 victims who had been defrauded out of money by the company for work that was never completed.
