More than 100 plaques have been stolen from graves from the Tweed Heads General Cemetery in Tweed Heads South. Tweed Shire Council spokesperson Shannon Carruth said staff were "really distressed" when they made the discovery on Tuesday morning. "I am at a loss to understand why anyone could make the choice to steal from the dead," she said.
