Stephen Moriarty has been grazing cattle on his family acreage on the Gold Coast hinterland for most of his life. The Queensland outback is getting a much-needed drenching as stormy conditions bring rainfall of 180 millimetres to some areas and the wet weather is set to continue. Townsville once again received the heaviest falls with 188mm at Whites Creek and 160mm at South Townsville. Another 150mm per day is likely in some isolated areas across the Bureau of Meteorology's flood watch area, which covers much of the state's interior.
