LINCOLN – The uniforms are brand new, and they might be the best looking threads in the program’s proud history. And that’s not the only thing that’s new with this season’s Upper Deck Post 14 American Legion baseball team. The head coach is Brandon Kelly, who takes over the team after spending last summer as an assistant coach to Matt Allard. And nearly three-quarters of Kelly’s 15-man roster are newcomers.

PROVIDENCE – It looked like it was time to warm up the bus. Not much seemed to go right for the North Providence High baseball team midway through its biggest game of the year on Wednesday afternoon, Game 3 of their best-of-three Division II championship series against East Greenwich High at Rhode Island College's Pontarelli Field.

PROVIDENCE – It’s been said time and time again in sports that it’s tough to beat a very good team three times in a season, and the Scituate High boys’ lacrosse team found that out the hard way in Monday’s Division IV championship game against Rogers High.

PROVIDENCE – The Woonsocket High baseball team’s 39-year-old title drought is over. Playing in Division III for the first time in its program’s long history, the Novans struck gold by sweeping this past weekend’s best-of-three championship series with Pawtucket and capping a fantastic 22-2 season with a 4-2 victory on Sunday afternoon at Rhode Island College’s Pontarelli Field. “It feels amazing,” said Woonsocket senior Noah Levreault.

Check this out: Woonsocket's Tarik Robinson-O'Hagan, Lincoln's Christian Toro and Kyle Moison, and Cumberland's Cole Hooper all earned All-American honors in the men's hammer at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. https://t.co/t0YSuasGmL via @TheValleyBreeze

During a two-day stretch where I saw seven championship events, this may be the most impressive feat of the bunch: CHS's first R.I. title since 1989, and Kiley DeFusco became a nine-time state champion. @GoBlueClippers @CumberlandXCTF https://t.co/vzTPiTJ73j via @TheValleyBreeze

Excellent news for @DaviesTechHS football fans: The defending IV champions will play their home games "up the road" at Bryant University this fall. Beirne Stadium had hosted Smithfield and Scituate when they both had to play off-campus in 2023. @DaviesFootball1
