The class of 2025 includes 260 bachelor students and 30 students from the Master's of Social Work program. HELENA — A wildland firefighting pilot who died fighting the Horse Gulch Fire last July will be honored at the National Fallen Firefighter Memorial on May 4. Juliana Turchetti, 45, died when her single-engine air tanker crashed into Hause Lake on July 10, 2024. Turchetti, who was born in Brazil, was flying for Dauntless Air and contracted out of Idaho when she was assigned to the Helena area to fight the Horse Gulch Fire.

Update Mar. 14, 5:00 p.m. — Law enforcement has confirmed a woman was killed Friday afternoon in an officer-involved shooting in downtown Helena. A Friday evening joint update from the Helena Police Department and Lewis and Clark County Sheriff's Office stated numerous 911 calls were made about a woman at the courthouse with a pistol.

HELENA — Police have staged in the area of the county courthouse on E. Broadway for an incident Friday afternoon. The first reports came in right around 1:30 p.m. Friday. E. Broadway has been shut down in the area of the Lewis and Clark District Courthouse for investigation. People are asked to avoid the area. According to the city there is no threat to the public at this time.

HELENA — Kenneth William Greene was found guilty of felony deliberate homicide in Lewis and Clark District Court on Wednesday for the shooting death of Bernadette Johnson in 2024. Police were dispatched to a reported shooting in the area of Prospect and N. Washington on the evening of June 21st where they found Johnson in the driver's seat of her SUV with a gunshot wound to the chest.

HELENA — The Republican candidate for House District 83 is Wes Feist. Feist, who is born and raised in East Helena, told MTN he is running for the legislature because he wants to make sure children have access to educational opportunities, limit government reach and protect access to public lands. Feist is currently a member of the East Helena City Council. The top issues he wants to see addressed by the legislature are property taxes, Medicaid expansion and funding for education.
