Portion of E. Broadway blocked in Helena for police investigation at county courthouse

HELENA — Police have staged in the area of the county courthouse on E. Broadway for an incident Friday afternoon. The first reports came in right around 1:30 p.m. Friday. E. Broadway has been shut down in the area of the Lewis and Clark District Courthouse for investigation. People are asked to avoid the area. According to the city there is no threat to the public at this time.
Suspect convicted for deadly shooting in Helena

HELENA — Kenneth William Greene was found guilty of felony deliberate homicide in Lewis and Clark District Court on Wednesday for the shooting death of Bernadette Johnson in 2024. Police were dispatched to a reported shooting in the area of Prospect and N. Washington on the evening of June 21st where they found Johnson in the driver's seat of her SUV with a gunshot wound to the chest.

HELENA — A jury convicted a Helena man of murder for the June 2024 fatal shooting of Bernadette Johnson. Kenneth William Greene was found guilty of felony deliberate homicide in Lewis and Clark District Court on Wednesday. According to court documents, police were dispatched to a reported shooting in the area of Prospect and N. Washington on the evening of June 21.
