Former Boca Raton High School football star Ashton Gillotte was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs selected Gillotte in the third round with the 66th overall pick. Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter Jr. was drafted second overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2025 NFL Draft. His father, Travis Hunter Sr., was present at the draft after being granted permission by a Florida judge. Hunter Sr. had been unable to attend the Heisman ceremony in December 2024 due to legal issues. Hunter Sr. is a former football and track star from Boynton Beach High School.

Spanish River High School will enter spring football in the market for a new head coach. Ian Headley, who led the Sharks' football program for the past three seasons, has been hired as the next head coach at Brookstone School in Columbus, Georgia. The story was first reported by the Columbus Ledger Enquirer. He will replace Rance Gillespie, who led Brookstone to three straight winning seasons and a state runner-up finish in Georgia's independent football classification in 2023.
