    Canyon County voters will get another chance to decide whether to bolster funding for emergency medical services. Voters will consider a $7.9 million temporary levy for the Canyon County Ambulance District in the May 20 election. The vote follows voter rejection of two 2024 override levies: a $7.9 million levy considered during the May 2024 primary, and a $5.8 million levy during the November general election.

    Aspiring entrepreneurs will have an opportunity to vet their business ideas as part of a new, free program. Trailhead, the Boise-based nonprofit with programs to support entrepreneurs’ success, is launching a new program, Idaho Startup Lab. The program consists of four interactive sessions designed to move entrepreneurs “from idea to action,” Trailhead Director of Operations Jacob Grinwis said.

    Caldwell will be the site of Idaho’s newest LDS temple. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced the temple as one of fifteen new temples planned for around the world. It will be Idaho’s 11th temple, the release said. Locating a temple in Caldwell reflects “the strong Latter-day Saint presence and heritage in the region,” the release said. Members of the LDS faith first arrived in Idaho around 1855, the release said.

    During the summer, for Greenbelt food truck lovers, Green Acres is the place to be. But which place it will be, is unclear. Plans for the food truck park appear unsettled as the City of Boise processes two applications for two separate potential locations for the business. The park first opened in the summer of 2021 at 1401 W. Shoreline Dr. along the Boise River Greenbelt. It offers an array of rotating food trucks accompanied by live music and entertainment during the region’s warmer months.

    A group of Caldwell residents is in the process of gathering signatures in hopes of removing the mayor and certain city council members from office. The petitioners are seeking to recall Mayor Jarom Wagoner and council members Brad Doty, Geoff Williams, Chris Allgood, and Mike Dittenber. Council members Chuck Stadick and Diana Register are not facing a recall.
