A Caldwell Police officer who filed a lawsuit against the city is no longer with the department. Allison Butler initially sued the City of Caldwell and Caldwell Chief of Police Rex Ingram in February, alleging that Butler experienced harassment and retaliation from the department, as BoiseDev previously reported. An amended complaint filed on April 23 now names Caldwell Mayor Jarom Wagoner as a defendant in addition to Ingram and the city; the original complaint named just Ingram and the city.

With new data in hand, VRT leadership hopes to get Nampa leaders on board with continued or expanded bus service. VRT CEO Elaine Clegg presented possible funding options to the Nampa City Council during a workshop on May 15. The workshop is the first discussion of transit funding as part of the city’s budget-setting process for fiscal year 2026.

Bogus Basin has long been known for sunny conditions, giving skiers, boarders, hikers, and concert-goers some vitamin D and a tan on the slopes and at the base area. But now, the sun will do more than power good vibes — it will help power the receration area itself. In 2004, a group of Boise skiing enthusiasts and volunteers pooled resources to light 6.2 km of Nordic skiing trails at Bogus Basin.

Although the Treasure Valley is not famous for its bus service, its residents would face serious impacts if the area had fewer than its current offerings, or nothing at all. That seemed to be the consensus of a 15+ person focus group gathered by Valley Regional Transit to discuss the potential impacts of Nampa’s transit funding options for the coming fiscal year. The group included a mix of leaders and staff from the City of Nampa, the City of Caldwell, health care providers, and more.
