Dozens gathered along the shoreline for the highly anticipated departure of USCV Thialf. The world's second-largest crane ship is headed to an offshore wind project off New York, projected to power more than 500-thousand homes. Standing at a staggering 473 feet above sea level, passing cargo ships and sail boats are dwarfed by the giant steel vessel.

    FAIRHAVEN MASS. (WJAR) — An elderly Fairhaven resident was inside his house around 4:30 pm on Saturday when a gust of wind caused a tree to land on his house but neighbors tell NBC 10 news the man is alright. Maggie Rocha, Public Information Officer for the Fairhaven Fire Department, said the house wasn't severely damaged and there was no need to move out. Winds gusting to around 60 mph were forecast for the area, Rocha said damage, as occurred to the house on Eddy Street, wasn't unexpected.

Police say one little girl is dead and two of her family members remain in the hospital tonight. Franklin Police say the crash happened just before 6:30 Saturday night on Grove Street. Aerial drone footage shows a black pickup truck with severe hood damage crossing over a yellow center divider.
