    UMATILLA CO., Ore. - Umatilla County Sheriff Terry Rowan has pleaded no contest to driving under the influence and entered a pre-diversion program following his arrest last month in neighboring Gilliam County, where his blood alcohol content measured more than twice the legal limit. Rowan agreed to pay a $490 fine during a court hearing on June 13. The sheriff was arrested on May 16 for DUI and reckless driving in Gilliam County.

    YAKIMA Co., Wash. - A person is safe after being rescued from the Roza Canal in Yakima County Monday. According to information from the Yakima County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to the 500 block of Firing Center Road just after 11 a.m. for a report of a non-verbal vulnerable adult who had walked away from their home. A caregiver was following the adult and had called for help when the adult went into the Roza Canal and was being swept away.

    YAKIMA, Wash. - One person is dead and another is under arrest after a shooting in Yakima. The shooting happened June 14 in the 1200 block of Pleasant Avenue. According to investigators, when officers got to the scene, they found a 66-year-old man with gunshot wounds. He died at the scene. The person suspected in the shooting, a 38-year-old man, who also lives on the same property as the victim, was arrested near the scene.

    KENNEWICK - A Tri-Cities business man has lost his final appeal to stay in the United States and will be deported his family reported Sunday. Sergio Cerdio, 42, who owns Hibachi Explosion in Kennewick, was denied citizenship at a hearing in Tacoma. His wife and two children will remain in Kennewick while he is deported to Mexico to live with family there. In an update posted to social media, Cerdio's wife, Gabby, said she isn't giving up hope that they will be able to reunite the family.
