The UK government is facing fresh embarrassment over its troubled HS2 high-speed rail project, British media report. Transport Secretary Heidi Alexander is expected to confirm in Parliament on Wednesday that the long-delayed line will not open by the 2033 target. She is not, however, expected to announce a new completion date. Ahead of any official statement, the BBC reported that Alexander will tell MPs there is “no reasonable way to deliver” HS2 on time and within budget.
