BOZEMAN, Mont. — Montana State University men's basketball added to its 2025-26 roster Monday with Division II Central Washington transfer Cavin Holden, who announced his commitment on his Instagram page. Holden is MSU's third transfer this offseason and second from the Division II ranks. He joins D2 Biola University's Davian Brown and Washington's Christian King from the transfer portal.

Montana State University earned its second transfer this offseason on Wednesday in Christian King. The 6-foot-8, 215-pound forward played two seasons at the University of Washington. He joins Division II Biola's Davian Brown as newest Bobcats from the transfer portal. King redshirted his true freshman season, but found his role off the bench for former MSU great and head coach Danny Sprinkle in his first year with the Huskies.

Montana State University women's basketball lost its most experienced returner to the transfer portal Monday in senior forward Lexi Deden. Deden becomes the fourth Bobcat to enter the transfer portal this offseason after spending five years in Bozeman. The Sentinel product was a part of two Big Sky regular season championships and two Big Sky Tournament championships for MSU, appearing in 119 career games with 42 starts.

Spring football practices are meant to help develop athletes before summer, but the Montana State University defensive line is working on the details more than the basics. The Bobcat defensive line returns the most experience out of any position on the team, with three of four starters from the 2024 Frisco squad and a plethora of experience in the depth. "We're starting from a spot where we aren't having to relearn stuff or teach stuff to guys," MSU senior defensive end Kenneth Eiden IV said.
