    WREX — One person died on Monday morning after a home in the 3900 block of Preston Street caught on fire. According to the Rockford Fire Department, crews responded to the home just after 6:00 on Monday and found heavy fire coming from the back of the home. The residents were alerted to the fire by working smoke detectors in the home but one passed away as a result of the fire.

    ROCKFORD (WREX) — The Rockford University Women's Flag Football team wrapped up its historic first season on Wednesday, with their first ever home game on campus. The Lady Regents hosted Bryant and Stratton at Greeley Field on Wednesday. Despite Amari Camacho-Anderson tossing two touchdown passes to Clare Strong, RU couldn't get the win on the final game of the season, losing 26-12. Camacho-Anderson went 15-22 on the day with two touchdowns and two interceptions.
