WREX — The North Boone Lady Vikings may have entered regionals as the four seed, but that doesn't seem to matter to them. Entering Monday's Super-Sectional, the Lady Vikings took down Richmond-Burton and Morrison, two number one seeds and looked to add a third to their collection when they met up in a rematch of last year's Benedictine Super-Sectional against IC-Catholic. Courtney Troutt took the mound, aiming to help her team get back to the State Tournament.

WREX — A Rockford IceHogs legend is coming back to the 815 after a short stint away from the team. After serving as team captain in the 2013-2014 season and as an assistant coach from 2021-2024, Jared Nightingale has been named the new Head Coach of the team. He takes over for Mark Eaton who assumed the Interim title when Anders Sorensen was named the Interim Head Coach of the Chicago Blackhawks last season.

WREX — With a spot in Friday's 4A Hononegah Regional Final on the line, DeKalb and Auburn met for a chance to play the hosts. Through the first three and a half innings, it seemed like whoever broke first would advance. Auburn's Maylee Baker and DeKalb's Jasmine Rodriguez both working themselves out of jams to keep things scoreless. Rodriguez loaded the bases in the third, but got Baker to fly out to end the inning. Baker stranded runners on second and third in the second.

WREX — The 2025 Rockford Rivets roster features some top collegiate talent from around the country, with some playing their summer ball right in their backyard. Three former Sycamore Spartans including: Tommy Townsend, Ethan Storm and Byron Blaise along with the former North Boone Viking Chandler Alderman join the Rockford Northwoods League team this season with two goals in mind, win games and develop their skills.
