On November 14, 2024, the 2nd Geniko Lykeio of Arta had the privilege of hosting Ms. Maria Ntziouni, Advisor to the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF). Ms. Ntziouni engaged with B’ class students, delivering an insightful lecture about the functions and operations of the European Union and the critical work undertaken by its institutions. During her talk, Ms. Ntziouni elaborated on the responsibilities of OLAF, emphasizing the importance of its role in maintaining financial integrity within the EU.

The European Union has been a strong advocate for the rights of individuals with disabilities, fostering inclusion and addressing mental health as a fundamental aspect of overall well-being. As part of the ongoing “EU Values” project, the second year has been dedicated to exploring the EU Disability Strategy, emphasizing the rights of disabled individuals and the broader concept of inclusion.

On November 1 officially started the 3-years Erasmus+ Project (Policy Debate Network) called CIDRA – Creating a joint Infrastructure for Dialogue, Research and Advocacy between Europe and Africa that includes thirteen Universities (six from Europe and seven from Africa), led by Roma Tre, aiming at establishing a research and advocacy infrastructure beween the two continents. EU-Africa relationships are strategic for both regions, in many respects.

This year, one hundred Sixth Form students from Sant Josep Obrer have had the exciting opportunity to visit Portugal, an experience rich of historical and cultural significance. Spain and Portugal, while distinct in many ways, share a fascinating history and a mutual path within the European Union, making this trip was more than just an excursion, it has been a journey into our shared past and future.
