    North Carolina authorities have arrested a South Carolina pair who they say sold moonshine through Facebook. WECT-TV reported Tuesday that Bladen County Sheriff James A. McVicker says 20-year-old Dillen Wright and 26-year-old Kaytee Lauren Nielson of Aynor, South Carolina, were arrested after a joint investigation with North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.

    Gov. Pat McCrory wants Congress to approve a little more than $1 billion in federal aid to help North Carolina with repairs and recovery after Hurricane Matthew's record flooding last month. On Monday, McCrory released his requests for the state after the massive rains and resulting flood damage his office said hurt 30,000 businesses and caused more than $400 million in crop losses. More than 3,700 people were in shelters at the height of the storm. There were 28 storm-related deaths.

    A 21-year-old North Carolina man has suffered severe burns after falling into a hot spring in Yellowstone National Park. Park officials say Gervais Dylan Gatete of Raleigh, an employee of park concessionaire Xanterra Parks and Resorts, fell into a spring in the Lower Geyser Basin on Tuesday. The area is just north of the park's famous Old Faithful area. Gatete was with seven other people when he fell.

    Police arrested a suspect who they said was responsible for a rash of graffiti around Fayetteville that frustrated downtown business owners. Jacob David Smith, 24, of the 6550 block of Stillwater Drive, has been charged with defacing public property. While officers were serving a search warrant on Smith's residence, detectives discovered more than 300 grams of marijuana, manufacturing and packaging materials and more than $800 in cash.
