AbstractA positive association between sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs) and diabetes risk has been shown, with inconsistent evidence between artificially sweetened beverages (ASBs) and diabetes. Moreover, it is uncertain if physical activity can mitigate the negative effects of these beverages on diabetes development. Therefore, we aimed to evaluate the independent and joint associations between SSB or ASB consumption and physical activity on the risk of type 2 diabetes.

AbstractData on associations between adiposity and heart rate variability (HRV) in prepubertal children are limited. We examined the associations between adiposity indices and HRV, independent of lifestyle behaviors, comparing multiple indicators of adiposity, and explored differences between boys and girls. Data stem from 469 participants of the QUALITY cohort (630 children aged 8–10 years with a parental history of obesity).

Time-varying confounding is a common challenge for causal inference in observational studies with time-varying treatments, long follow-up periods, and participant dropout. Confounder adjustment using traditional approaches can be limited by data sparsity, weight instability, and computational issues.

Despite several withdrawals from use, 18 advanced therapy medicinal products are still authorized as of January 2023.1 Gene therapies are the most represented (68%), especially since the emergence of chimeric antigen receptors (CAR) T cells.
