TYE, Texas — The City of Tye is working to "get back on track" regarding December's water bills. The City shared online Friday that December water bills have been sent out, however, they will not add any late fees or cut off anyone's water for these bills. According to Chief of Police, Christopher Selander, the problem began with staffing issues and the City is working towards getting everything back on track with February's water bills.

ABILENE, Texas — An Abilene man has been indicted for shooting and killing a man at a local bar back in October. 32-year-old Anthony Devon Evans was indicted Thursday for murdering 30-year-old Hayden Smith Oct. 27 at Spanky P's bar. Court documents state Abilene police were called to the bar about an injured person Oct. 27 around 2 a.m. Surveillance video captured a verbal confrontation between the two men with Smith slapping Evans.

ABILENE, Texas — A former Cooper High School music teacher has been indicted for an improper relationship between an educator and a student. 54-year-old Lawrence Brandt Grigg was arrested in August after Abilene ISD notified police of a possible relationship between Grigg and one of his former students. According to court documents, the relationship became intimate during the student's senior year in 2023.
