Lake in the Hills’ director of parks and recreation has been named the new assistant village administrator. Trevor Bosack has served as the director of parks and recreation since August 2022. Previously, he served as the assistant to the village administrator in Hinsdale and Woodridge. He also worked for Lake in the Hills from 2007 to 2014.

The Kaneland School District Board of Education voted unanimously against approving a waiver of conflict of interest with the law firm Ottosen DiNolfo Hasenbalg & Castaldo, Ltd. regarding Crown Community Development’s request for a TIF district for a proposed development at the Interstate 88 and Route 47 interchange. The vote and discussion took place during the Sept. 11 board meeting.

Princeton Logan defeated Peru Parkside, 14-3, to win the Fieldcrest IESA 2A regional championship in Wenona Tuesday. The Lions broke the game open early with four runs in the bottom of the first and three in the second to go up 7-3. Winning pitcher Piper Hansen settled in after a three-run third inning with a home run to record the five-inning, four-hit victory. She struck out five.

Princeton and Kewanee both recorded team scores of 53, but Princeton’s sixth runner broke the second-place tie. Hall (72) placed fourth. Princeton’s Augustus Swanson won the race with a time of 18:10 with Hall’s Eri Martinez-Prado placing fourth (19:30) and Princeton’s Tyler VandeVenter fifth (19:42).
