At a Nov. 16 special Kendall County Board meeting, board members unanimously approved a contract with Ice Miller law firm for legal services related to the project. The legal services are expected to cost at least $75,000.

Chuck Ashley of Yorkville is a Vietnam War veteran who has come to terms with his military service in one of this nation’s most divisive conflicts. The son of a World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, Ashley followed in his father’s footsteps when making one of the most important decisions of his life. After graduating from Oswego High School in 1964, Ashley knew that college was not in his future. “I never felt I was ready to go to college,” Ashley said.

Nancy Judge started her career in the U.S. Air Force loading nuclear weapons onto B-1B bombers and finished with the service’s highest enlisted rank of command chief master sergeant. In between, Judge served on air bases across the U.S. and overseas, where she was instrumental in training airmen and carrying out a multitude of leadership duties. “I loved every minute of it and would do it again,” Judge said. Judge grew up in suburban Northlake and graduated from West Leyden High School in 1983.

YORKVILLE – Motorists will have a new location to find fuel, snacks and other items when a QuikTrip gas station and convenience store opens at the northeast corner of routes 47 and 71 in Yorkville early in 2025. The Yorkville City Council approved a special use permit for the development on Oct. 24, setting the stage for construction to start in May of 2024.
