BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - It’s time for Biloxi’s Blessing of the Fleet, a yearly Coast tradition that dates back to 1929. Each year before shrimp boats journey into the Gulf, they are blessed in the waters between East Biloxi and Deer Island. The ceremonial blessing, given by a local Catholic priest, marks the official beginning of shrimping season. During the event, an evergreen wreath is dropped into the Sound in the memory of those shrimpers who have died at sea.

BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - A large bootleg merchandise operation was busted at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. Thursday night, three individuals were caught by undercover Harrison County officers at the Lynyrd Skynyrd concert. The coliseum workers were tipped off by Lynyrd Skynyrd’s merchandise manager, who told them the suspects had been selling the bootleg merchandise at all of the concerts.
