BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - It’s time for Biloxi’s Blessing of the Fleet, a yearly Coast tradition that dates back to 1929. Each year before shrimp boats journey into the Gulf, they are blessed in the waters between East Biloxi and Deer Island. The ceremonial blessing, given by a local Catholic priest, marks the official beginning of shrimping season. During the event, an evergreen wreath is dropped into the Sound in the memory of those shrimpers who have died at sea.

BILOXI, Miss. (GULF COAST WEEKEND) - The 31st Annual Crawfish Music Festival is heading back to Biloxi this weekend, kicking off Thursday, April 18 and lasting through Sunday. Gates open for rides Thursday night from 5-10 p.m., with a special rate of $25 for an unlimited ride wristband, giving you 5 hours of fun. In addition to exciting rides, delicious crawfish and other classic fair foods, you can expect some great artists to rock the stage.
