THE Premier Soccer League (PSL) is waiting on Zifa to confirm the 18th team to participate in the 2025 season after ZPC Hwange, winners of the Zifa Southern Region Division One league, failed the club licensing test. ZPC Hwange then went into a partnership with MWOS FC, last year’s runners-up in the Zifa Northern Region Division One league and are meant to play in the top league in place of the power utility side.

BULAWAYO Chiefs are building a formidable side targeting a quick return to the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) which has seen four players, who have played in the top league, retracing their footsteps. Former captain at The Ninjas, Malvin Mkolo, who had a dance with topflight champions Simba Bhora last year, is now back at the club together with attacking midfielder Arthur Musiyiwa, who bounces back after a stint with giants Dynamos.

Highlanders captain Ariel Sibanda has been honoured with a Ford Ranger truck for his continuous illustrious 16-year service to the club. Sibanda's contract with Highlanders expired at the end of last year and he since returned to the club and started training last week. He was presented with a motor vehicle at the club offices this morning. The Bulawayo giants lost Lynoth Chikuhwa, Peter Muduhwa and Godfrey Makaruse after their contracts also lapsed. Related Topics

FORMER Zifa president Leo Mugabe has urged the association's councillors to vote for seasoned football administrators in tomorrow’s election and shun novices. Mugabe prays that people that have run the Premier League and Regions get voted into the Zifa executive committee. The councillors will elect the president, two deputies, one of which should be a woman, as well as six ordinary board members.

Sport THE cases of Walter Magaya and Temba Mliswa seeking postponement of Zifa elections will now be heard by Justice Tawanda Chitapi after Jutice Ngoni Nduna, in Bulawayo, referred the latter's case to Harare. Mliswa’s case was set to be heard in Bulawayo yesterday, but Justice Ngoni decided that it be moved to Harare to avoid conflicting judgments. His lawyer Musindo Hungwe of MD Hungwe Attorneys updated the media after the brief appearance at the Bulawayo High Court.
