SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Missouri’s Governor announced Tuesday that FEMA will be in the Ozarks. They’ll inspect the damage from recent rain that caused severe flooding and major damage to the area’s roads and bridges. This will include Dade, Douglas, Ozark, Vernon, and Webster Counties. It follows severe weather over the Memorial Day holiday weekend. “It’s a good hangout, little spot to relax, especially during the summer,” said Justin Harrison.

We’re fortunate in that. We have grandparents whose grandparents brought them here.

OZARK, Mo. (KY3)—Now that the rain is slowing down and flood waters are receding, we’re taking a look at some of the damage left behind. In Ozark, a major roadway is crumbling due to the weight of the water. “It’s a huge inconvenience. There’s thousands of people that go over the bridge, especially morning and at night, coming back and forth to work,” said Amy Acker. She says she travels along Riverside Road in Ozark a few times daily.
