    Paul Lanning’s laudable write-up of the Norwalk Preservation Trust (NPT) deserves attention. But the NPT themselves deserve a rebuttal, and Norwalkers deserve better than the NPT. I live literally a few doors down from the buildings NPT wants to “save” (31-35 and 25 South Main Street). But guess what? They’re eyesores. I’ve even toured an apartment in one of them. It was dingy and smelled disgusting. The landlord was clearly trying to flip it while doing as little maintenance as possible.

    Traffic is moving in both directions on I-95. Governor Ned Lamont and Connecticut Transportation Commissioner Garrett Eucalitto today announced that Interstate 95 in Norwalk will be fully reopen to traffic in both directions by 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2024.

    Northbound lanes of Interstate 95 will reopen by 8 p.m. Saturday, Gov. Ned Lamont said. Southbound will remain closed through Sunday. The State’s livestream showed that traffic resumed at 7:42 p.m.This follows a fiery crash Thursday morning among three vehicles, including a fuel tanker, which exploded in flames, heavily damaging the Fairfield Avenue overpass.
